Aquatics & Motor Development Study

Dear Parent/Guardian, My name is David Anderson. I am the Director of the Marian Wright Edelman Institute for the Study of Children, Youth and Families at San Francisco State University. I am excited to announce that my team and I are working closely with Otteroo to conduct a research study to better understand the effects of early water play on infant motor development. We invite you to participate in this study. The study seeks to determine whether using a flotation device like the Otteroo influences when specific motor skills like sitting, crawling, and walking are acquired. It is OK if your child did not use the Otteroo at all. The study requires you to fill out a survey that takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. If your child meets the criteria below, we would love to hear from you!

  • He/she is currently 12 to 18 months of age
  • He/she is able to walk
