Retrospective Survey Recruitment

Dear Parent,

We are excited to announce that otteroo will be working closely with the Infant Studies Center at U.C. Berkeley and the Department of Kinesiology at San Francisco State University on a multi-layered research study designed to identify and better understand the effects of early buoyant water play on infant motor development.

We would love to invite you to participate in the first stage of this study in the form of a 30-minute survey that can only be filled out by formerly or currently active users of the otteroo.

This is an opportunity for all parents and infants to contribute to a potentially revolutionizing research study that can help advance the understanding and employment of water-centered activities in the first years of an infant’s life. This initial stage of the study will be to identify whether using a flotation device like the otteroo has a substantially positive effect on the developmental timeline of when specific motor skills like sitting, crawling, and walking are acquired.

If you fit the below criteria to participate in the survey portion of the study, we would love to hear from you!
• Infant is currently 12 to 15 months of age
• Infant used the otteroo at least 3 times during the first 12 months

The questions on the survey will seem basic to you but it will help the researchers to effectively design and fine-tune the research studies to follow.

If you are interested in helping us launch this important study. We ask that you fill out a consent form in order for the data collected to be publish-worthy. You may either provide your information using this link for us to mail you the form or download the consent form here if you have access to a printer and scanner. We will email you the survey’s link once we received the signed consent form.

The information is strictly to allow the research team to aggregate the data.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the research study from us or the research team, please email
